Gettysburg: Things to Do

Gettysburg, Pa., is one of the most historic towns in the United States. From July 1-3, 1863, the North and South waged a battle in and around town, and that battle became a turning point of the American Civil War, eventually leading, two years later, to the South’s surrender and the preservation of the country. Today Gettysburg is a vibrant thriving town with things to do for all ages and interests. We’ve gathered links to some of the most popular places to visit or to gather more information.

Where do I start?

The best place to begin your Gettysburg visit is the National Park Service’s Gettysburg National Military Park, and the visitor center is just a 5-minute drive or a 30-minute walk from the Gettysburg Academy.
